Goalie Development Coordinator – Mike Brodeur:

Mike Brodeur started his Junior Hockey Career for the Camrose Kodiaks in the 2002/2003 season, and named MVP for the team. During that same year, he also earned another Top Goaltender Award playing in the RBC Cup Tournament. Brodeur was then drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 7th round.

The next year, Brodeur decided to move to the WHL, and joined the Moose Jaw Warriors. The next season he turned Pro where he earned a spot in the ECHL All Star Team. After putting time in with the ECHL, Brodeur moved up to the AHL’s Rochester Americans where he was named team MVP, and also selected for the AHL Canadian All Star Team.

Brodeur then signed with the Ottawa Senators where he played 3 games, posting 3 wins, and 1 shutout. He caught the eye of Canadian Hockey Legend, Don Cherry appearing in one of his Rock’Em Sock’Em hockey highlight videos. In 2011, Brodeur’s team the Binghamton Senators won the Calder cup. He then finished his Pro career in the AHL and ECHL, cut short by a number of career ending injuries.

Throughout his career, Brodeur has been mentored by many Premier Coaches, and played with some of the NHL and AHL’s top players. He has taken these experiences and has developed his own style of coaching. Brodeur’s hockey strategies and style come from playing the game at top levels, and from coaching at the Jr. A level here in Alberta.

Over the last number of years, Brodeur turned his focus to developing and coaching up and coming hockey players, and was most recently the assistant coach for the Fort McMurray Oil Barons in the AJHL.

Mike brings a unique mix of experience, skill, and mentoring style that lends itself well as a coach.
